Students in our STEAM lab work collaboratively to build operational drones from robotics kits. This is part of a new curriculum that Cathedral has instituted called Project Lead the Way which introduces students to engineering, computer sciences and alike fields through project-based learning. Students learn a wide variety of topics including CAD modeling, 3D sculpting, coding techniques (e.g., Scratch, Arduino, Teachable Machine, Kobra), 3D printing and laser cutting technologies, website design (e.g. Wix and WordPress), machine learning skills, and read about emerging technologies. A drone race is planned for later this semester.
