Golden Diploma

Alumni receive a Golden Diploma at Commencement to Honor the Milestone Anniversary of their Graduation

Golden Diploma is a special honor presented to alumni celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation. Each year, the jubilee class members are invited to take part in commencement exercises to receive this distinction. The tradition pays homage to the 95+ year legacy that Cathedral alumni have created and cultivated at Boston’s historic South End campus.

Because of the pandemic and our concern for the safety of our alumni, hosting a Golden Diploma ceremony at the 2020 and 2021 commencement was not possible. Therefore, the ceremony will be celebrated prior to the All-Class Reunion in the fall. As a member of the class of 1970 and the class of 1971, we cordially invite you and your guests to attend Cathedral High School’s Golden Diploma ceremony in honor of this 50th anniversary of your graduation on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.

Prior to the ceremony, breakfast will be held in the gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. Following the ceremony, you have the opportunity to take a tour of Cathedral’s renovated school campus. Please complete the RSVP form below and kindly let us know if you will be joining us for this special day. If you will be bringing guests, please indicate how many will be in attendance. Please note that how your name appears on the RSVP form will mirror how it will be printed on your Golden Diploma.  If you would like to make a class gift in honor of your 50th and your Golden Diploma celebration, please complete the additional donation box below.

We ask that you kindly RSVP by August 26th. If you have any questions or need to make a correction on your diploma please contact Amy Malkemes at
