Students in grades 7 through 9 got back to school supplies at Walpole Walmart while meeting Patriots Wide Receiver Danny Amendola, all courtesy of his Catches for Kids Foundation and Walmart.
New England Patriots’ Wide Receiver Danny Amendola and Walpole Walmart brought students in grades 7 through 9 from Cathedral High School to the local retail store on Tuesday, September 2nd to prepare them for the new school year through the Catches for Kids Foundation Back to School program. The students received reusable Walmart tote bags full of back-to-school supplies and $50 Walmart gift cards to shop for other basic items necessary to begin the school year.
Amendola personally passed out the school supplies to each student, shook their hands, signed autographs and wished them well in their studies. The students enjoyed a snack before boarding the school bus, ready to take on a new school year.
“Not only is it important to be educated, but to also be prepared to receive that education,” said Amendola. “I am so happy that we were able to give these kids the proper tools that will allow them to maximize their educational experiences, and I am so excited to continue to make things like this happen in this community.”
Thanks to the Amendola Foundation’s efforts “students began school with a backpack filled with supplies and ready to learn,” according to Cathedral principal, Dr. Helenann Civian. “We are honored to be a part of this amazing foundation and grateful to Danny Amendola for all of his generosity and time. We look forward to the continued partnership.”
Established in 2010, Danny Amendola’s Catches for Kids Foundation is on a mission to improve the lives of low-income children and families in need by providing opportunities, support and resources as well as daily support and life-changing experiences.
