The Board of Trustees of Cathedral High School are pleased to announce that Daniel Carmody has accepted the position of Head of School at Cathedral, effective on February 10, 2020.

Dan comes to Cathedral after 13 years at Boston College High School, where he has been the Vice President for Global Mission and Identity and Executive Director of the Hyde Center for Global Education. He started his career at BC High as a guidance counselor. In addition, he has worked in a number of leadership positions for the Jesuits in Rome, Italy promoting the worldwide network of Jesuit schools. He is a graduate of Elon College in North Carolina and actually started his career at Elon as an Admissions Counselor after serving two years in the Peace Corps in South America.

Paul Chisholm, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Interim Head of School said, “We are fortunate to have attracted a person of Dan’s character and experience to lead Cathedral. We look forward to working with him to continue Cathedral’s success in transforming student potential into life-long achievement.”

Dan is eager to join as Head of School at Cathedral as evidenced by his comments: “As I begin to learn the Cathedral story and tradition, I see a strong, vibrant, Catholic school that is full of opportunity, commitment, and promise. It is the sense of community, however, that has struck me so deeply and that I so look forward to joining. I’m eager to meet the families, students, and dedicated faculty that make Cathedral the special institution that it so clearly is in the City of Boston. I’m beyond grateful for the trust and faith placed in me to lead the next phase of Cathedral’s growth as a transformational community of Catholic education.”
