Congratulations to Ms. Vacarro!

On August 6th, 2021 Cathedral’s own Art Instructor, Ms. Jillian Vaccaro shared her 2021 MFA Summer Thesis Exhibition, “Changing since Changing” along with five other artists at the SOWA ‘First Friday’ gallery event in the South End. This Friday, August 16th she will participate in Artist Talks, an online zoom panel at 1pm. To view Ms. Vacarro’s work, you may visit the gallery in person through August 16th, or online at changingsincechanging.com.

Ms. Vaccaro received her BFA from Emmanuel College in 2014 and is currently an MFA candidate at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Jillian is an art educator at CHS and is committed to the mission of the school by creating an environment where students feel valued, challenged, and appreciated.

“Ms. Vaccaro has played an instrumental role in developing the 7th & 8th grade fine arts curriculum. She has also helped our graduating students find success in curating portfolios that result in college acceptances” remarked Mr. Stephen Belyea, Cathedral’s Art Department Chairperson.

Ms. Vaccaro works across media describing memories from her past experiences. Growing up in a close-knit family, Jillian creates using familiar objects to share parts of her personal narrative through her art.
