Dan Carmody, President
Hello Cathedral Families:

I hope you are all relaxing and enjoying the summer break. The first day of school is right around the corner and as much as we all hoped that we would be done with COVID-19 protocols and restrictions, we will need to continue to be vigilant. In order to ensure that we do not just open the school this fall, but do everything we can to keep our students and staff safe so our kids can stay in school! As always, student and staff health and safety remain my number one priority. This is a responsibility I take very seriously and am honored that you trust us with your students every day.

The COVID-19 pandemic will continue to challenge us, yet, we have so much to look forward to in the coming year. I am confident that together, our students and staff will continue to exceed our expectations and thrive in spite of COVID’s attempts to disrupt our lives.

I cannot wait to see all of the students and staff again soon! It’s going to be a fantastic school year!

All the best,
Dan Carmody, President

Updates to COVID Protocols and Policies

All people entering Cathedral High School will be required to wear masks, regardless of vaccination status.  There are 5 exceptions to mask use while in our building:

  • Masks are not required while eating.
  • Adults who are vaccinated, and in meetings with adults only, can choose to remove their mask.
  • Vaccinated individuals can remove masks when working alone.
  • Vaccinated teachers may lower their mask when speaking to a class at a distance of more than 6 feet from students.  Masks must remain in place when working closer with individual students or groups of students.
  • Students who are participating in strenuous activities through gym class or the CHS athletic program may remove their mask when at a distance of more than 6 feet.  Masks must be properly placed immediately following the activity.

Visitors will be permitted on campus and will go through a health screening upon arrival.

CHS now has on-site daily rapid testing available for close contacts and individuals with COVID symptoms.  The school nurse will administer tests as needed, and will provide health education, information, and updates on additional policies and protocols. Our goal is to keep our students in school learning.

CHS will return to locker use for all students.

These policies may be revisited and changed at any time according to the latest guidance and mandates from local, state and national officials.
