National Honor Society

National Honor Society

The Cathedral High School chapter of the National Honor Society recognizes students who excel in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. NHS is the country’s leading student recognition organization.

National Honor Society encourages student achievement. Membership provides opportunities for students in grades 10 through 12 to reach their fullest potential in school and in life.

The chapter brings a tradition of success and excellence to Cathedral: there is only one NHS and it has been recognizing outstanding students for about as long as Cathedral has been training them (National Honor Society was founded in 1921; Cathedral High School in 1926).

The values of National Honor Society pair extremely well to Cathedral High School’s values and expectations for students. Each year, following NHS national guidelines, chapters throughout the country collectively dedicate countless hours to school and community service projects, as well as fundraisers for charities. Instilling these values early in life helps lay the groundwork for a lifetime of service.
