Nancy Lane, beloved Cathedral High School alumna and director of guidance, was recognized by the Catholic School Counselor’s Association with the association’s 2015 Guidance Counselor of the Year award. In giving the award, the associated lauded Ms. Lane’s “hard work, dedication, and loyalty to the students of her school through the field of counseling.”

“We are proud to have Ms. Nancy Lane on our Cathedral team,” said Dr. Oscar Santos, head of school. “Ms. Lane believes the each and every student is unique and tailors the college preparation process to each students’ needs and talents.”

Ms. Lane has more than 28 years of combined experience at Cathedral High School as an administrator and teacher. Through her tireless efforts and close work with each student, every senior at Cathedral has earned admission to college for 12 years running. More than working with just students, Nancy Lane coordinates successful programs and partnerships to help students on their pathway to college such as the WilmerHale college essay workshop. Ms. Lane also started the school’s unique paid summer internship program for students with WilmerHale and Fidelity Investments.

“Cathedral High School is a part of my past, present, and future. It has not been a place of employment; it’s a home that touches the mind, body, and soul of all members of the Cathedral family,” said Ms. Lane.
